Accessibility at the Slieve Russell Hotel Golf & Country Club
If you have accessibility needs, we have planned your stay to ensure access and complete comfort during your stay. You will find accessible ways to access most areas of the hotel, with wheelchair friendly routes and lifts.
When you choose Slieve Russell you can stay knowing your accessibility needs and complete comforts will be catered for.
Dedicated disabled parking at our Main Hotel entrance and at our Country Club entrance to the rear of the hotel, perfect for those with reduced mobility. We respectfully ask our Guests to display their parking permit when occupying these spaces.
Our Accessible bedrooms are furnished with a Double & Single Bed.
The en-suite bathroom provides a wet room, roll in facility. Some are fitted with flip down accessible shower seat, alternatively a portable shower seat has been provided, Accessible wash hand basin and toilet with additional railings fitted to support your needs. An emergency alarm pull cord is provided.
We understand that everyone’s needs are different, so please do not hesitate to talk to a member of our team so we can do our best to meet your needs within any of our bedrooms or public areas.
Guide & Assistance Dogs – We welcome Guide & Assistance Dogs. We do ask that they are identifiable when on duty. Should you need water for your dog, please do not hesitate to ask a member of our team.
Getting around our Resort
Cranaghan Way Walkway – Our walkway has a tarmacadam path; we recommend you approach the walkway from the Golf Club side to avoid the steep gradient pathway over by Adventure Golf. Areas of the walkway are hilly in places, the best route to take to manage these hills are from the golf club side. There are benches along the way for you all to take a break and enjoy your surroundings.
Rushen Brook Garden (Secret Garden) – Our Garden has a brick pathway to easily enjoy the outdoors in all weather, take shelter under the canopy of trees and shrubbery or the covered outdoor seating area.
Adventure Golf – Unfortunately some areas of adventure Golf are not accessible due to how holes are connected.
Our Restaurants – We have three restaurants at the Hotel, our Conall Cearnach & Setanta Restaurant have some raised seating areas so we do ask kindly if you can advise us of your needs when making your reservation, we will ensure that your table location is perfect for you. Our Summit Restaurant is accessible from the lift in the Club House, the seating areas are open plan and all accessible.
The Country Club – Our Country Club offer accessible shower and toilet facilities. Lockers are set at low level for your convenience. Access to the pool deck is also available. Regretfully our Sauna, Steam Room., Pool and Jacuzzi are all accessed by steps.
The Ciuin Spa – Should you wish to enjoy a visit to the Ciuin Spa during your visit, we would be delighted to welcome you. Accessible access is from the fifth floor, please advise a member of our team who will be delighted to guide you. The team will support you through your spa journey, we offer accessible changing & locker facilities. In the Hydrotherapy suite you can enjoy the Hamman, Steam room (with slight modification by our team), Salt Grotto, Heated Beds. Regretfully access to the Jacuzzi is via steps. Our Treatment rooms are accessible with access to the manicure & pedicure station via a side entrance.
Accessible toilet facilities across all our outlets, all are equipped with an alarm pull cord, equipment set at an accessible point and additional grab rails.
Smoking Area – The covered Smoking area located at the Country Club entrance is fully accessible.
Sensory room/ Soft Play
We are proud to announce we have upgraded our Soft Play to a Sensory Soft Play Room. The hotel can be a busy environment, the multi-sensory room offers young children and in particular those with sensory issues a quiet space to enjoy whilst staying with us. The room has been specially designed by Multisensory Ireland (a local Cavan business) to allow users to relax and enjoy a range of sensory experiences such as sight, movement and touch.

Touch – Tactile Touch Panel with Padded Corner
The Sensory Soft Play Room is available to hotel residents and can be accessed with their hotel key card. It is available for use from 10am to 9pm daily for children 0-4 years and those with special needs.
In Ireland, one in twenty people have sensory issues and one in fifty have been diagnosed with Autism, at Slieve Russell we are committed to providing an inclusive family friendly experience for everybody.
