Tuscan Golf Resort Partnership

Great news for Slieve Russell Golf Club members: from the 1st of January 2012 the Tuscan golf resort is partner of the Slieve Russell Hotel, a luxury resort and golf club which is located in Tuscany Italy, just 1h30 minutes driving from Rome Innternational Airport.

Thanks to this partnership, members of both golf clubs will enjoy several advantages, among which:

•    green fees at reduced rates for short stays or free green fees for stays of 3 to 7 nights
•    possibility of playing inter-club competitions, i.e. between members of the Italian and Irish golf clubs

Thwe Argentario Golf Club boasts an 18 panoramic holes with over 6,218 metres par 71 Course. The property includes a Golf Academy where guests can book lessons with PGA professionals.

Prestigious Golf Accreditation Scheme award for Slieve Russell

The Slieve Russell Hotel, Golf & Country Club was flying the flag for Ballyconnell and Cavan as they were named among 30 golf clubs newly accredited under the National Standards Framework for Golf Clubs at Failte Ireland Head Office, Amiens Street earlier this month. These new standards were developed in conjunction with the Golf Quality Assurance Group as part of the Golf Forums role in developing golf in Ireland. They follow the customer’s journey through the booking process from their arrival at the course and reception and clubhouse facilities, all the way to golf standards and post game facilities to ensure that the customer can expect:

• High quality customer service from all staff, who can provide information on costs, tee-times, course disruptions and more from arrival through to departure
• The golf course is in good condition with good maintenance practices in place
• The clubhouse facilities and food and beverage services are of appropriate quality and condition
• That the club meets all health and safety standards and legal obligations
• Good signage and clean building on arrival with adequate car parking
• That adequate facilities are made available for mobility impaired guests

The first of their kind in Ireland, the standards of golf clubs offer a number of distinct advantages including free listings on the domestic and international Discover Ireland websites and access to key Failte Ireland business supports. Speaking at the awards ceremony, which was held in Failte Ireland Head Office, Amiens Street, Dr. Tony Lenehan emphasised the importance of these new standards.

Slieve Russell take Irish Senior Cup Northern District Title - Belvoir Park

Congratulations to the Slieve Russell ladies team who claimed the Northern District title over Royal Portrush on the 19th for the Irish Senior Cup at Belvoir Park Golf Club.
